BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division in Japan has announced the latest product from its popular die-cast toy 'METAL BUILD' series, the 'Crossbone Gundam X1 (Patchwork)' from 'Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Steel 7', scheduled for release in September 2023.
In the story, the Crossbone Gundam X1 Kai Kai (Skull Heart) piloted by Tobia was heavily damaged after battling the Jupiter Empire's high-performance mobile suit, the Königs. It was then urgently repaired using spare parts from the Crossbone Gundam X3, resulting in its patchwork state. Many areas, including both arms, chest, and left shoulder, utilize X3-spec components, but due to the hasty repair, there wasn't enough time to modify the paint scheme. While it cannot use the Brand Marker (Beam Shield) for weaponry, it gains I-Field Generators on the chest and left shoulder, as well as the Federation Forces' 'Hook Shield'. Furthermore, it can envelop its palms with the I-Field to enhance punching attacks.
The 'METAL BUILD Crossbone Gundam X1 (Patchwork)' is based on the previously released Crossbone Gundam series' die-cast movable frame and exterior armor parts, modified to recreate its in-setting appearance using the X1's head and right shoulder, and the X3's chest and left shoulder. The entire unit features intricate color painting and marking prints, presenting a cool, heavy mechanical texture. It also retains the separable Core Fighter system and the face's heat dissipation deployment mechanism.
Its weaponry includes the distinctive Hook Shield on the left arm, as well as a rich array of armaments common to the Crossbone Gundam series, such as the Buster Gun, Beam Zanber, Scissor Anchor, Heat Dagger, and Screw Whip. Additionally, newly produced 'I-Field effect parts' can be equipped on both hands, allowing for the recreation of the impressive I-Field punching scenes from the series!
