BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan has announced today the latest product from the official side story《Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury Vanadis Heart》: the「HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith Jiu」, part of the 1/144 scale Gunpla『HG（High Grade）』series, which boasts the most diverse range of mobile suits. This item is scheduled for release in July 2023 and will be sold exclusively on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The story of《Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury Vanadis Heart》takes place five years after the prequel『Vanadis Incident』. Dr.Vilda Miren, who researches GUND medical applications, and her young assistantKiyuu Labottravel to Earth aboard a massive cargo ship. The item they are transporting is a mobile suit named「Gundam Lfrith Jiu」. This GUND-ARM, built by the Vanadis Institute, was originally an unarmed, non-combat unit, and its actual purpose remains unclear. However, in the side story, when piloted by Kiyuu Labot, it can utilize the external composite armament「Tiger's Hand」, modified from a large mobile suit arm, for combat.
The「HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith Jiu」utilizes numerous new parts to faithfully recreate its refined armor design. The glowing sections on the head, chest, and shoulders are rendered with clear black covers, allowing for both illuminated and non-illuminated display options. The overall movable frame design is fundamentally the same as the Gundam Lfrith, offering a highly flexible range of articulation.
The distinctive large composite armament「Tiger's Hand」is also produced with new parts. It can be mounted on the back normally and equipped on the right arm during use. The grip and the first and second joints of the index to pinky fingers are all articulated, allowing for a variety of combat poses, including shooting and close-quarters attacks!
