Japan's UNION CREATIVE Co., Ltd. (ユニオンクリエイティブ株式会社) will release a new product based on the anime "Saiyuki RELOAD -ZEROIN-", the "Genjo Sanzo" pre-painted figure. The suggested retail price is 18,150 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in October 2023!
"Genjo Sanzo," a crucial character appearing in Japanese manga artist Kazuya Minekura's manga series "Saiyuki," is one of the highest-ranking Sanzo Hoshi (Sanzo Priests) in the story. His formal Buddhist name is "31st Generation Tang-Ah Genjo Sanzo," yet he shows no signs of devotion to Buddhism, constantly breaking precepts by drinking and gambling, and is also a heavy smoker. His personality is also extremely short-tempered and irritable, quick to pull out a gun at the slightest disagreement! He wears the Maten Sutra draped over his shoulders, wields a small revolver called the Shoryu Gun, and is an exceptionally accurate shot. He also possesses a special folding fan weapon for dealing with Goku.
The "Saiyuki RELOAD -ZEROIN- Genjo Sanzo" pre-painted figure immortalizes Sanzo, who is never without a cigarette, in a super cool, cross-legged sitting pose. Standing approximately 15.5 cm tall, in addition to the main Sanzo figure with his purple eyes and golden hair, it also includes a dedicated luxurious chair, creating a calm and sophisticated atmosphere for the overall display. Diverging from his usual monastic robes, Sanzo is depicted wearing a suit with a loosened tie, and his chin-resting pose exudes a languid aura, forming a striking contrast with his fierce and sharp gaze!
