LEGO has recently begun to unveil its lineup of sets slated for release this summer, and the content is truly spectacular. The "Dry Bowser Castle Battle Expansion Set", which was previously introduced by Didier Agani, the interactive play designer from the LEGO Super Mario team, during "MAR10 Day," now has complete product information! The set number is 71423, and it is scheduled for release on August 1, 2023.
This set comprises a total of 1321 pieces. Once assembled, the entire scene stands approximately 27 cm tall and extends to an impressive 46 cm in length, making for a significant presence. The Dry Bowser's mouth entrance, viewed from the front, is truly cool, and the green spires on both sides, along with the bubbling lava rendered with curved elements, are also very eye-catching. Coupled with the massive chains constructed from Technic parts, the overall design is exceptionally well-executed.
Turning to the back reveals a wealth of play features, including a cage holding a purple Toad, a crane used to defeat Dry Bowser, flippers for attacking the Dry Piranha Plant and Dry Goomba, gym equipment, and what appears to be a secret strategy room simulating an invasion of the Mushroom Kingdom... The secret treasures previously mentioned by the designer are believed to be the Key Block and Treasure Chest Block. A castle that is both well-designed and fun to play with truly makes one want to buy it!
