Japan's renowned toy manufacturer Kaiyodo, under its poseable figure series "Amazing Yamaguchi" (アメイジング・ヤマグチ), is scheduled to release a poseable figure of the protagonist "Takemichi Hanagaki" from the popular anime and manga series "Tokyo Revengers" in October 2023!
"Tokyo Revengers" (東京卍リベンジャーズ) is a shonen manga created by Japanese manga artist Ken Wakui, serialized from 2017 and concluding in 2022, with a total of 278 chapters. The latest second season of the anime finished airing on April 2nd, with a third season planned for release. The story depicts the protagonist, "Takemichi Hanagaki," living a useless, dead-end life at 25. One day, he learns of the deaths of his former girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, and her younger brother, Naoto Tachibana. Subsequently, he is inexplicably pushed onto the train tracks. At the moment of death, he travels back 12 years. He initially believes it's a divine intervention allowing him one last glimpse of his beloved, but upon shaking hands with Naoto, he instantly returns to his original timeline and reunites with Naoto, who is now a detective. Through Naoto's explanation, Takemichi learns the secret of his time-traveling ability. The two then decide to use this power to change fate, save Hinata, and eliminate the source of all problems, the "Tokyo Manji Gang." Thus, the story unfolds.
Takemichi Hanagaki, nicknamed "Takemitchy" (タケミっち), is the protagonist of this work. In the past, he was an ordinary and weak delinquent, but kind-hearted. After his encounter with Naoto, he learned the secret of his time-traveling ability and resolved to work with Naoto to change the past and the present, saving Hinata Tachibana from dying. Originally intending to eliminate the "Tokyo Manji Gang," the source of all problems, he coincidentally became close with the gang's leader, Manjiro Sano. Although he is not skilled in fighting, he possesses remarkable resilience and endurance, earning him admiration from many.
This Amazing Yamaguchi Takemichi Hanagaki figure from Kaiyodo is a poseable toy that materializes the protagonist Takemichi Hanagaki in his special attack uniform, as he appeared in the mid-story arc after Keisuke Baji's death, when he succeeded as the First Division Captain of the "Tokyo Manji Gang." Standing approximately 15.5 cm tall, the gold-foiled text on his special attack uniform, including both sleeves and the back, is clearly printed. For expression parts, there are four interchangeable sets, allowing Takemitchy's various emotions to be fully displayed. Coupled with interchangeable hand parts and highly articulated joints, a wide array of poses can be achieved. A dedicated display stand is also included.
