Max Factory, a Japanese model manufacturer, recently announced the latest product from their popular articulated figure series 'figma': 'Schwi', from the theatrical anime film "NO GAME NO LIFE ZERO", scheduled for release in December 2023.
The heroine of the story, Schwi, is an Ex-Machina girl from the Great War era, devoid of a heart and not even truly considered a living being. While appearing to be a ten-year-old human, her entire body is composed of complex machinery. In her quest to understand whether the Ex-Machina possess hearts and souls, she over-analyzed the human Riku Dola, leading to an error and her subsequent abandonment. However, Schwi did not give up on understanding "the heart." Years later, she reunited with an 18-year-old Riku and lived with him. During this time, she gradually came to understand human emotions and realized that her feelings for Riku were indeed love. After marrying, the two hoped to end the Great War with a "game where no one dies."
The 'figma Schwi' is crafted as an articulated figure, standing approximately 12.5 cm tall, capturing Schwi's Ex-Machina form. It faithfully recreates her incomplete bionic skin shell, exposed internal mechanical structures, and asymmetrical headpiece, wings, and cables – equipment distinct from other races' technological advancements. Transparent green parts and metallic paint finishes are utilized to reproduce the texture of each component.
All of Schwi's body joints are made with stable, non-loosening figma original joint parts. The long hair on both sides of her head and the cables on both sides of her lower back also feature ball joint articulation, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. Accessories include three interchangeable face plates: "standard face," "crying with joy face," and "blushing face." Also included are a "chessboard" and "chess pieces" to represent the world of the series, and "front hair with flower ornament" and "left hand with ring" to recreate her wedding scene.
