BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division has today announced the latest product from "Gundam Build Metaverse," the "ENTRY GRADE 1/144 Lah Gundam," from their 'ENTRY GRADE' plastic model series, which is suitable for younger age groups and beginner modelers. It is scheduled for release in October 2023.
The Lah Gundam is an original Gunpla created by protagonist Rio Hojo, using the "ENTRY GRADE RX-78-2 Gundam" kit as a base. It is named "LAH" after the Hawaiian word for sun and designed with a "Heart of Japan" theme, reflecting his deep interest in Japanese culture. As a beginner, Rio went through many trials and errors before finally dedicating himself to completing this mobile suit, which also embodies his brilliant aspirations for Gunpla battles.
The "ENTRY GRADE 1/144 Lah Gundam" continues the refined parts composition and excellent color separation design of the EG RX-78-2 Gundam. It features a low part count and a simplified assembly process, utilizing a large number of new parts to recreate its appearance, which is designed with imagery such as "Japan" and the "sun." With flexible articulation, it's easy for even beginner modelers to enjoy. For weaponry, it includes a beam rifle and a shield, while the beam saber from the RX-78-2 Gundam's backpack has been transformed into a two-part combinable beam naginata, allowing for dynamic and powerful battle poses.
