The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company has announced the latest product from the most diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla lineup, the 『HG (High Grade)』 series, the "Plutine Gundam" from "Gundam Build Metaverse", scheduled for release on December 02, 2023.
The Plutine Gundam is a new form created by combining the Core Gundam II, used by the protagonist Yuto Kuga in the fourth series "Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE", with the "Planetary System" and Plutine Armor. It features a dark color scheme, armor equipped with numerous sharp blades, and new weaponry resembling a reaper's scythe. A key highlight is its "EP Armor", made from recycled materials, which possesses a circulatory function that converts kinetic energy into internal power.
The "HG 1/144 Plutine Gundam" is based on the previously released Core Gundam II. In addition to its new dark molded color, it also utilizes some new parts to recreate the enhanced mobile suit "Core Gundam II+" appearing in the new work. This new unit similarly features a mechanism to transform from MS form into a Core Flyer, as well as a docking mechanism to combine with various planetary equipment.
The newly introduced "Plutine Armor", like previous planetary armors, can form a fighter jet mode using a stand. After combining with Core Gundam II+ to form the "Plutine Gundam", the blade-shaped parts across its body can form boomerang-like weapons, while the scythe weapon can transform into a spear. This "Plutine Armor" is made from recycled materials that Bandai has been promoting in recent years, making it more environmentally friendly and carbon-reducing compared to conventional plastic raw materials.
