THE GUNDAM BASE, Japan's official Gunpla flagship store for "Mobile Suit Gundam," recently announced its latest in-store exclusive limited product: the "MOON Gundam (Long-Range Beam Rifle Equipment)" from "Mobile Suit MOON Gundam," scheduled for release on June 10, 2023.
Designed by Ippei Gyobu, the AMS-123X-X MOON Gundam is the protagonist mobile suit appearing in the manga "Mobile Suit MOON Gundam." This unit was reconstructed using the head of the "Psycho Gundam Mk-IV G-Doors," a mobile suit belonging to the Titans remnants, its special armament "Psycho Plate," and the body of the "AMS-123X Varguil," the prototype of the Sazabi. It was named "MOON Gundam" because it was born in the forgotten colony "Moon Moon."
The "MOON Gundam (Long-Range Beam Rifle Equipment)" is a modified version of the previously released regular kit. Its parts' molding colors have been replaced with a special color scheme available exclusively at THE GUNDAM BASE. It boasts excellent part separation, color division, and articulated joint design, with high-density armor detailing that largely reproduces Ippei Gyobu's original design. The "Psycho Plate" mounted on its back can separate into 8 parts for versatile combination and deployment.
In terms of armament, in addition to the Beam Tomahawk, Beam Rifle, and foldable Beam Butterfly Knife included in the regular version, this edition further adds a "Long-Range Beam Rifle" of the same specifications as the Sazabi. It faithfully reproduces the telescopic mechanism of the stock part, allowing for cool shooting poses.
