PROOF Co., Ltd., a company that releases various anime and manga character merchandise, has announced its latest product, the "Edward & Alphonse -Brothers-" diorama figure, based on the TV anime "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood"! The suggested retail price is 39,600 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in November 2023.
"Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" is the second anime adaptation of Japanese manga artist Hiromu Arakawa's "Fullmetal Alchemist," based more faithfully on the original manga. The story takes place in a world where alchemy is highly developed, following two brothers who lost their mother—the elder brother Edward Elric and the younger brother Alphonse. In an attempt to resurrect their mother, they commit the greatest taboo in alchemy: "Human Transmutation"... This failed transmutation cost Edward his left leg, and Al his entire body. With Al's soul fixed to a suit of armor and Edward's limbs replaced with automail prosthetics, the two brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosopher's Stone and restore their bodies.
The PROOF "Edward Elric & Alphonse Elric -Brothers-" diorama figure, featuring an evocative and high-quality sculpt, measures approximately 24 cm tall (Al). It depicts a scene with the brothers back-to-back: the armored Al, whose expression cannot be seen, sits on a rock, head bowed, stroking a cat curled at his feet; Edward, with a resolute expression, his red cape billowing, steps on a stone, a pose that evokes their arduous journey (and Ed's "bean-sized" height)...
