The Gunpla "MG (Master Grade)" series, released by the HOBBY Division of BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. Japan, featuring the latest technology, complete part separation, and high posability, today announced the latest product from "Gundam Build Divers Genius Head Line", the "MG 1/100 Kampfer Schwer", scheduled for release in August 2023.
This mobile suit, like the previously released kits from the same series, Gundam Lindwurm and Gundam Ex Impulse, was designed by modeler NAOKI. In the story, it is the Gunpla used by the mysterious solo player "Kokuyou". Breaking away from the Kampfer's previous image of "paper-thin armor", it has been redesigned with heavy armor featuring impact resistance, beam resistance, and other enhanced performance. Numerous thrusters have also been added to the rear of the mobile suit to maintain mobility. Although this version does not feature the signature Mine Whip, it is still equipped with a shotgun, beam sabers, and Sturm Fausts. The giant bazookas mounted on its back can even be fired directly via remote control.
The "MG 1/100 Kampfer Schwer" is based on the previously released regular version Kampfer kit. It utilizes a large number of new parts to recreate its characteristic heavy armor, including the head top part and antenna, sharply angled chest armor, newly added stabilizers on the back, shoulder armor with a strong Federation-style mobile suit aesthetic, skirt armor, and foot parts. It also includes original water-slide decals featuring "Kokuyou"'s emblem and various numbering, allowing for richer detail on the mobile suit.
For weaponry, it includes two shotguns, two giant bazookas, two beam sabers, and two sets of Sturm Fausts. The two giant bazookas can be mounted on the backpack with their barrels facing forward. The two sets of Sturm Fausts can be attached to the left arm using new suspension parts.
