Japanese toy manufacturer TAKARA TOMY today officially announced the latest 4th generation product in its classic competitive toy series, "Beyblade", "BEYBLADE X", scheduled for release on July 15, 2023.

The competitive toy series "Beyblade," first released in 1999, much like Mini 4WD and B-Daman, allows players to customize the Beyblade body to alter its performance, enabling them to battle against other enthusiasts with their unique Beyblades, competing to see who can last until the very end in the arena. The first generation, with its Beyblades summoning sacred beasts in the manga and anime versions, sparked a craze, and subsequent works were also customarily launched alongside their animated and comic counterparts. However, this time, "BEYBLADE X" emphasizes a more futuristic design and a street-style competitive vibe that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders, aiming to promote the new generation of "GEAR SPORTS" beyond Japan.
While the 4th generation "BEYBLADE X" still consists of three main components – BLADE, RATCHET, and BIT – significant innovations have been made to the Beyblade body, launcher, and stadium. The BIT (axis) of BEYBLADE X and the inner wall of the stadium are both equipped with serrated grooves, reminiscent of the gears Link uses in "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess." Once these two make contact and interlock, they trigger an ultra-acceleration function called "X-DASH," achieving the fastest movement speed in the series' history, intensifying the thrill of battles.
Furthermore, the launcher can now be equipped with the "BEYBATTLE PASS" device, which links with a mobile app. Players can register their custom Beyblade data via the app. Whether it's launching for battles, completing in-app missions, purchasing products, or participating in official events using QR codes, players can earn points. These points can then be used to enter official challenge events, offering a chance to win rare Beyblades.

The first wave of "BEYBLADE X" products will feature four basic types of Beyblades, including Attack, Stamina, Defense, and Balance types, all right-spinning. The "Extreme Stadium" battle arena and the "BEYBATTLE PASS" device for mobile app connectivity will also be released simultaneously.
