Shanghai-based statue manufacturer Infinity Studio recently announced a new product from "Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo": the "Mari Illustrious Makinami" 1/2 scale full body statue! Both a Collector's Edition and a Deluxe Edition will be released simultaneously, with an estimated shipping date in Q1 2024.
This 89 cm tall three-dimensional rendition of "Mari" is designed based on her appearance in the pink plugsuit. While she strikes a natural pose looking into the distance, the tight plugsuit accentuates her toned physique and curves, strongly conveying Mari's alluring and charismatic character design. From the intricate detailing of the plugsuit, its paneling design, and the layered paintwork, to the dynamic sculpting of her flowing hair, everything is exquisitely crafted. The perfect curvature of her chest is an undeniable highlight! Paired with her iconic glasses and a subtle smile, this Mari statue truly combines impressive scale with meticulous detail.
The primary difference between the Collector's and Deluxe editions lies in the base. In addition to the Apostle's blood present in both versions, the Deluxe Edition incorporates elements such as EVA Unit-08, the anti-NERV organization "WILLE", and a transparent beverage bottle. The Deluxe Edition also includes additional interchangeable parts, allowing for poses beyond Mari adjusting her glasses.
