Japanese model manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY's mechanical-themed brand MECHA SMILE today unveiled the latest product from its completed combining toy 'THE GATTAI' series, the 'Chogattai Knight DX Full Power Gridknight,' which is scheduled for release in February 2024.
The theatrical film 'GRIDMAN UNIVERSE' returns to the setting of the first work, 'SSSS.GRIDMAN': the computer world 'Tsutsujidai' where protagonists Yuta, Rikka, and others live. It brings together the main characters from the sequel 'SSSS.DYNAZENON,' such as Yomogi and Yume, for a dream collaboration! After Akane Shinjo, who created monsters, returned to the real world and the mastermind Alexis Kerib was defeated by GRIDMAN, Tsutsujidai enjoyed peaceful daily life. However, just half a year later, mysterious monsters reappeared due to the convergence of multiple universes, leading the GRIDMAN Alliance to reassemble!
Unlike the 'Chogattai Chojin DX Full Power Gridman' released in 2019, 'THE GATTAI Chogattai Knight DX Full Power Gridknight' features a completely new design and mold. Its overall proportions, transformation and combination structure, and articulation have been significantly improved. The product includes Gridknight and four support mecha that transform from the New Century Junior High Students. When combined, it stands an impressive 24 cm tall, boasts knee articulation not present in the previous release, and can be swapped with a dedicated body for combined form that is easier to handle.
In addition to clenched fists and open-palm hands, the hand parts also include assembleable fully articulated fingers. The movie's Gridknight Calibur comes in two sizes, one for Gridknight and one for Full Power Gridknight. Utilizing the articulation mechanisms in each part, you can recreate weapons such as the Burst Full Power Light Breaker and Missile Launchers.
Each support mecha can not only combine independently into 'Gattai Senjin Powered Knight Zenon,' but also combine individually with Gridknight to recreate three forms: 'Gouri Gattai Knight Max Gridknight,' 'Busou Gattai Knight Buster Gridknight,' and 'Daiku Gattai Knight Sky Gridknight,' each equipped with a newly designed helmet by mechanical designer Tsuyoshi Nonaka.
It can even perform an original toy combination with the separately sold 'GOLDBURN,' equipping a helmet and chest armor similar to KAISER GRIDKNIGHT.
