To celebrate the 50th anniversary of "Mazinger Z," BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS in Japan will release the latest commemorative product, "DX Chogokin Damashii Mazinger Z 50th Anniversary Ver.," from its high-end alloy toy series "DX Chogokin Damashii," which features combination, transformation, and light & sound effects. The suggested retail price is 84,700 JPY, with an estimated release in December 2023!
The "DX Chogokin Damashii Mazinger Z 50th Anniversary Ver." commemorative product is based on the version released in 2012. Parts are made with alloy materials and feature a brand-new metallic coating, not only upgrading the texture but also incorporating new designs for the head, arms, and chest heat sinks, making the overall appearance closer to the TV anime version; the classic internal mechanical parts seen in the anime's ending theme are also thoroughly reproduced! The internal details of the unit are precisely sculpted, and both left and right halves of the armor can be removed, allowing for display in a half-cutaway state or a fully exposed, armor-off internal structure state.
Newly sculpted parts are added to the abdominal armor, allowing for the reproduction of the "Rocket Punch" launcher in its open state! It also features a wealth of enhanced armaments, including the "Iron Cutter" on both arms, "Drill Missiles" on the elbows, and the iconic "Jet Scrander." Additionally, it comes with interchangeable left and right hand parts with five articulated fingers, and the forearms can be removed to recreate the "Rocket Punch"; ratchet mechanisms are added to the elbow joints, combining articulation with strength, to achieve a wider range of motion.
The Jet Pilder, completely newly sculpted, features foldable/extendable wings, a realistic Koji Kabuto figure inside the cockpit, and comes with a dedicated landing pad.
The chest heat sinks utilize built-in flat light-emitting panels instead of LED effects, allowing for the reproduction of the realistic Breast Fire special move!
A new infrared remote control is included, featuring sound effects and dialogue for activating special moves, along with four classic songs sung by Ichiro Mizuki: "Mazinger Z," "Z no Theme," "Bokura no Mazinger Z," and "Soratobu Mazinger Z."
The impressive hangar features simple lighting effects to enhance the overall atmosphere, and a metal plate embedded with the 50th-anniversary emblem! This increases its collectible value.
