From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, the popular alloy toy brand "Chogokin Damashii" will welcome a new member to its product lineup commemorating Go Nagai's "Mazinger Z" 50th anniversary: "GX-10R Boss Borot"! The suggested retail price is 12,980 JPY, with an estimated release in October 2023.
The scrap-iron robot "Boss Borot (ボスボロット)," piloted by Koji's classmate, Boss, is assembled from discarded materials and junk, yet its design is exceptionally cute and endearing. It doesn't rely on standard weaponry, but fights with brute strength exceeding 120,000 horsepower, a power that can rival Mazinger Z.
The "Chogokin Damashii GX-10R Boss Borot" measures approximately 12 cm tall and reappears with a newly sculpted head, faithfully recreating its charming and cute appearance. It utilizes a substantial amount of alloy to create armor with a heavy, robust feel. In addition to the three head parts from the initial release (GX-10), it further includes three interchangeable expression heads (a total of 6 heads) designed by animator Kazuhiro Ochi: a normal face, an angry face, and a smiling face. These attach to the main body via magnets, allowing for the recreation of scenes where its head is removed, letting you enjoy the comical and fun Boss Borot!
