To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the globally influential Walt Disney Company, Bandai Namco Toys & Hobby today for the first time announced that the collaborative product currently under development, the "Disney IMAGINATION BELT", will be officially unveiled soon. A prototype is currently on display at the "Tokyo Toy Show 2023" event, with the release date yet to be determined.
This "Disney IMAGINATION BELT" is an original product that combines Bandai's years of experience in producing various Kamen Rider transformation belts with various Disney elements. The gilded ship's wheel in the center of the belt comes from the ship's wheel joyfully steered by Mickey Mouse in Disney's "Steamboat Willie", the world's first synchronized sound animation released in 1928. The main body of the belt is extensively colored with metallic finishes to represent its mechanical structure, and the keyhole on the left side embodies the product's theme: "Use the magic key to make your dreams come true."
Similar to how modern Kamen Riders use various items to transform and switch forms, this belt will also allow for performances by inserting various magic keys. The currently revealed Mickey-shaped key incorporates elements from "Steamboat Willie" and boasts luxurious specifications with full gilding and embedded jewel parts. Additionally, silhouettes of 9 other different magic keys have been teased, suggesting Kamen Rider-style play where inserting a key, pulling the right handle, turning the central ship's wheel, and emitting various sound effects can be expected.
