Mothra's Formidable Venomous Foe, 'Kaiju Bangechi: Demon Sea Beast Dagahra,' Can Reproduce Its Initial and Complete Forms!

Bandai Spirits' monster figure series, 『Kaiju Bangechi』, recently announced the latest product, "Demon Sea Beast Dagahra," from the 1997 film "Rebirth of Mothra II," slated for release in November 2023.

The Demon Sea Beast "Dagahra" was originally an artificial lifeform created by the ancient Nilai Kanai civilization to remove ocean pollutants. However, the pollutants absorbed by Dagahra would concentrate into highly toxic organisms called "Barem" (venomous crystals) within its body. When expelled, these not only exacerbated ocean pollution but also served as Dagahra's attack method, ultimately leading to the destruction of the Nilai Kanai civilization. Dagahra then slumbered at the bottom of the sea until it was revived in modern times due to ocean pollution. Its nature is extremely ferocious, and its powerful aquatic adaptability and potent venom once pushed Mothra to the brink.

"Kaiju Bangechi: Demon Sea Beast Dagahra" is sculpted by emerging kaiju designer Takuma Asai. It boasts an impressive length of approximately 46 cm, with a realistic style that meticulously captures its reptilian and piscine features and its menacing head. All four legs are designed to be slightly rotatable, and by swapping parts, it can reproduce both its initial four-legged crawling state and its complete flying form. The accessories also include an approximately 6 cm tall water spirit, Ghogo, who in the film transformed into the miraculous water that empowered Mothra into "Rainbow Mothra"!
