Hong Kong toy brand BigBoysToys, in collaboration with artist Tik Ka from East, has obtained official licensing for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and unveiled a full-body statue of "Michelangelo", based on Tik Ka's original design! Limited to 499 pieces worldwide, shipping is expected to begin in December 2023.
Tik Ka, who can be said to have mastered the art of "East meets West," has designed this Ninja Turtle in his distinctive style, incorporating the "Wind, Forest, Fire, Mountain" concept from Sun Tzu's Art of War, "Military Engagement." The original phrase, "Swift as the wind, silent as the forest, aggressive as fire, immovable as the mountain," corresponds to the personalities of the four Turtle brothers. For Tik Ka, Michelangelo's "Wind" represents "facing setbacks with an optimistic and unyielding attitude."
The "Wind Michelangelo" full-body statue, designed by Tik Ka, stands approximately 35 cm tall and is crafted from Polystone. The overall design reinterprets the Ninja Turtle by combining it with a Chinese divine general, creating a unique and distinctive appearance. While retaining Michelangelo's inherent characteristics, it sculpts an ethereal and flowing aesthetic. In addition to transforming the original eye mask into sturdy armor, the classic nunchaku and the turtle shell are intricately detailed with rich Eastern-inspired textures. The full-body armor, the flowing ribbons, and the weathered paint applications throughout evoke the style of a divine idol. The original "M" on the belt has also been replaced with the character "風" (Wind) in this piece. Highly recommended for fans of Tik Ka!
