Japan's renowned toy company "STAND STONES" (スタンド・ストーンズ, abbreviated as stasto), following the release of several fun gashapon series such as Animals Mimicking Food and Mochi Puppy Camping, has once again collaborated with Japanese sculptor Montomi (もんとみ) to launch a super cute new addition to the Animal Attraction series: the "Snack Expedition! Mochi Hamsters" (tentative translation) gashapon! There are 5 types in total, with a reference price of 300 JPY per capsule, scheduled for release in August 2023.
Highly popular animal sculptor Montomi (@shigemochi_kun) has been interested in handmade art with animal and nature themes since childhood. In May 2016, Montomi officially began releasing works as a prototype sculptor. The healing and adorable style of these works quickly gained viral attention on social media platforms and led to subsequent commercialization.
This "Animal Attraction Snack Expedition! Mochi Hamsters" gashapon series features figures approximately 38-43mm in size. The round and adorable hamsters, soft and squishy like mochi, transform into an expedition team to conduct detailed investigations and research on snacks! The five researchers include: Hamster Climbing a Ladder, Hamster with a Magnifying Glass, Hamster with Binoculars, Hamster with a Telescope, and Hamster Eating a Snack. They use small flowers or leaves as camouflage, their bright little eyes earnestly observing various delicious snacks... showcasing a noble spirit of research!
