Japanese toy brand GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable pre-painted PVC figure series, "POP UP PARADE," is scheduled to release in December 2023 the popular iconic enemy character "Pyramid Head" (Japanese: レッドピラミッドシング, English: Pyramid Head) from KONAMI's classic horror game Silent Hill 2! Priced at 4,800 JPY.
The classic horror game Silent Hill 2 was released by KONAMI on the PS2 console in 2001. It also uses the town of "Silent Hill" as the starting point for its plot, unrelated to the previous game's story. The story of the second installment describes how the protagonist, James Sunderland, one day receives a letter sent three years prior by his deceased wife, Mary. The letter reads, "I'm waiting for you in our special place." James, seeking the truth, sets off for Silent Hill, and thus the story unfolds.
The enemy character Pyramid Head first appeared in Silent Hill 2. Its design leaves a very strong and recognizable impression. It has since appeared multiple times in related works, including films. It has even made guest appearances in other titles, such as the well-known asymmetrical horror game "Dead by Daylight."
This POP UP PARADE Pyramid Head stands approximately 17 cm tall and is based on Pyramid Head's fundamental appearance. With the great knife in hand, the conical helmet on its head, and its somewhat tattered clothing, it evokes the feeling of a bloodthirsty butcher relentlessly pursuing its prey, creating a truly atmospheric presence.
