Max Factory, a Japanese model manufacturer, has recently announced the latest product from its highly diverse and popular plastic model kit brand "PLAMAX": the "1/72 VF-1A/S Valkyrie Fighter Mode (Maximilian Jenius / Hayao Kakizaki)" from the theatrical anime film "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?", scheduled for release in December 2023.
The VF-1 Valkyrie, a variable fighter that debuted in the original 1982 "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross," is one of the series' most iconic mechs, playing an active role in the "First Space War" between Earthlings and Zentradi. This aircraft was developed by the U.N. Spacy using advanced technology acquired from alien battleships, equipped with a nuclear fusion turbofan engine capable of continuous flight for 700 hours within an atmospheric environment. Furthermore, to combat the Zentradi, who are much larger than humans, it features a three-stage transformation mechanism from fighter to robot, and its high versatility has led to the development of various specifications.
The "PLAMAX 1/72 VF-1A/S Valkyrie Fighter Mode (Maximilian Jenius / Hayao Kakizaki)" is based on previously released VF-1 kits. At a 1/72 scale with a total length of approximately 19 cm, it recreates the Valkyrie fighter mode piloted by protagonist Hikaru Ichijo's two comrades, Maximilian Jenius and Hayao Kakizaki, using four different molded plastic colors.
High-density and realistic detailing is present throughout, including the pilot figure, cockpit interior, fuselage lines, and internal mechanical structures. The three landing gear sections can be interchanged to display either the deployed or stored state. By using different parts and fuselage marking decals, you can choose to recreate Hayao Kakizaki's unit, or Max's Unit 013 (A-type) and Unit 001 (S-type) commander aircraft.
