BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division, Japan, recently announced the latest addition to their 'POKEPLA' series of Pokémon-themed model kits: the "Select Series Black Rayquaza", scheduled for release in October 2023.
The Dragon/Flying-type Rayquaza is a Legendary Pokémon that appeared in the Hoenn region, and is also the cover legendary for "Pokémon Emerald". Rayquaza possesses destructive power and a strong territorial instinct, normally residing in the ozone layer, higher than the clouds. It feeds by absorbing energy from meteorites using a special organ called the "Heavenly Organ" within its body, occasionally resting at high places like Sky Pillar. This product features the shiny version, which appears with an extremely low probability in the game series, and one also exists within the Ancient Poké Ball held by Roy in the new anime series "Pokémon Horizons".
The "POKEPLA Black Rayquaza" is a modified version of the previously released standard kit. It features a precise part separation design, utilizing the original molded colors of black, red, and yellow to reproduce its cool black body and patterns without the need for painting. The Black Rayquaza, measuring over 20 cm in length, has rotatable arms and body segments, allowing for stable display when mounted on its cloud-shaped base!
