BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division in Japan recently announced the latest addition to their 'POKEPLA' series of Pokémon-themed plastic model kits, the "Select Series Groudon", scheduled for release in December 2023.
Many ancient legends are passed down in the long-standing Hoenn region. Among them, the super-ancient Pokémon are described as follows: Kyogre, the Pokémon that created the sea, slumbers in the deep ocean, while Groudon, the Pokémon that created the land, rests peacefully within the underground magma. In the past, they engaged in fierce battles to expand their respective domains. It was then that Rayquaza, dwelling in the ozone layer, appeared and, with its overwhelming power, quelled the conflict, causing both Groudon and Kyogre to fall into a deep slumber.
This latest Pokémon Plastic Model Collection features Groudon, the legendary land-creating Pokémon from the Hoenn region. Once assembled, the kit stands approximately 10.8 cm tall. Its intricate design faithfully recreates its heat-sink-like head, tail, and S-shaped body. The white claw spikes and the black stripes covering its entire body are reproduced using precise part separation and molded colors, eliminating the need for additional painting. The shoulder joints of both arms are equipped with articulation, allowing for various poses.
