Following the first installment, King-Ohger, and the second installment, Legendary Shugod, the assembly model candy toy series 'MINIPLA', released by BANDAI CANDY, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today announced the latest product for 'Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger', the 'Shugod Gattai Series 03', scheduled for release on August 14, 2023.
Set in a completely fictional fantasy world, 'Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger' tells the story of five heroes who, a thousand years ago, fought alongside the Shugod King-Ohger to defeat the evil empire 'Underworld Empire Bugnarok' and protect humanity, each establishing five distinct nations across the continent. However, 2000 years later, Bugnarok revives as prophesied and invades the human world once more, ushering in the saga of five new-generation monarchs and one who is destined to become king. The Sentai robots in the series are insect-type mechanical lifeforms called 'Shugods', capable of transforming and combining into giant robots to fight Bugnarok alongside the monarchs.
The latest third installment features a total of 6 product sets, including the Tarantula Shugod/Tarantula Knight summoned by the sixth monarch, Jeramie/Spider Kumonos, the Guardian Weapons Cicada, Centipede, and the Guardian Weapons Pillbug, Snail, which briefly appeared to assist King-Ohger.
Among these, the Tarantula Shugod/Tarantula Knight requires three sets of parts to assemble, and can freely transform into either Tarantula Shugod or Tarantula Knight forms. It can also be equipped with the Guardian Weapons Cicada Blade and Centipede Chainsaw, just like in the show. Furthermore, the Cicada and Centipede products include parts to upgrade the first installment's 'King-Ohger', allowing for a significant recreation of the post-combination proportions seen in the show, such as the Kuwagata Shugod's wings and the Shugod Sword's butterfly wings, among other designs!
