Bandai Co., Ltd.'s GASHAPON capsule toy brand in Japan today officially announced the third installment of its new 'CAPSULE ACTION' series, themed after Mobile Suit Gundam. Following the first installment featuring RX-78-2 Gundam and Zaku II, the brand has now revealed the "GM" as the third product, scheduled for release in November 2023.
The RGM-79 GM series mobile suit was a mass-produced mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces during the late stages of the One Year War, utilizing actual combat data from the RX-78-2 Gundam. It focused on simplifying its structure and reducing manufacturing costs to boost productivity. Although its performance was inferior to the Gundam, its advantages included rapid and mass production, relatively easy operation, and high versatility, allowing for modifications based on pilot or mission requirements.
The "CAPSULE ACTION GM," like previously released mobile suits, features a total height of approximately 9 cm. It will be available in two versions via lottery: the standard red and white "Color Ver." and the "Mechanical Clear Ver." with transparent armor. It boasts a modern, tall, and slender body proportion with richer detail sculpting than the original design. Its biggest selling point is the flexible articulation design in multiple areas such as the neck, waist, and limbs, allowing for dynamic posing with its beam spray gun and shield.
