South Korean renowned collectible brand Blitzway, known for releasing numerous robot toys, is set to launch a new poseable alloy robot toy from its 'CARBOTIX' product line in Q4 2023: the 'Black Getter' from Go Nagai's work 'Getter Robo Armageddon'! The price is US$225 (JPY 29,700 including tax).
The Black Getter (ブラックゲッター) first appeared in the 1998 OVA series 'Getter Robo Armageddon'. Piloted by Ryoma Nagare, its origin story is that Ryoma was blown 13 years into the future by an explosion and found this Getter-1 at a Getter Ray research base on the moon. Ryoma then modified it, removing its transformation capabilities and enhancing its close-combat weaponry. The originally red machine turned black due to frictional heating upon entering the atmosphere. It has also made numerous appearances in the 'Super Robot Wars' game series.
This Black Getter from the CARBOTIX series stands approximately 23 cm tall. In terms of appearance, the Black Getter, based on Getter-1, features smoother lines. Compared to the Getter-1 previously released by CARBOTIX, it boasts an increased amount of alloy parts, and the black paint finish, replacing the red sections, offers an even more premium texture. The articulation is also outstanding, allowing for a wide range of dynamic and powerful poses to be easily achieved. The spikes on the fists and the Getter Leather Blade (ゲッターレザー) are also faithfully reproduced. The eyes on the head and the chest area inevitably house LED components, allowing them to light up with batteries. For accessories, it includes six sets of interchangeable hand parts, two Getter Tomahawks, and Black Getter's cape.
