Bandai's GASHAPON division, known for its highly popular "Waiting Animals" gashapon series, which has seen innovative releases like "Waiting Vegetables" and "Waiting UMA," is now launching a new product: the "Waiting Mahjong Tiles" gashapon! There are six types of tiles in total, with a suggested retail price of 300 JPY per capsule, scheduled for release in late July 2023.
"Waiting Mahjong Tiles" continues the anthropomorphic style of its predecessors, with Japanese mahjong tiles as the new protagonists! The mahjong tiles are designed in a pitiful pose, patiently waiting, with their legs tucked in and hands resting on their knees – are they waiting to be "eaten" (chi) or "ponged" (pong)? The lineup includes: One of Dots, Five of Characters, Seven of Bamboos, White Dragon, Red Dragon, and Green Dragon... a total of six types. At approximately 3 cm in size, their distinctive patterns are meticulously carved – whether displayed individually or in a row, they are incredibly humorous and charming!
