Developed by the Japanese toy company KOTOBUKIYA, the highly customizable model kit series 'HEXA GEAR' recently announced its latest product, "Blockade Ivy," scheduled for release in December 2023.
HEXA GEAR 'Blockade Ivy' is an artillery combat unit deployed on the outer fringes of the MSG management area. It possesses an insect-like body and is equipped with an "Ultra-Long-Range Sniper Electromagnetic Projectile Cannon." It can lock onto enemy positions using its pointed, horn-like sensor on the front of its body and flexibly move to firing positions with its six agile legs, maintaining stable firing accuracy for precise sniping even on rugged terrain. Additionally, the unit is equipped with two plasma cannons on its front for close-range defense.
When completed, the "HEXA GEAR Blockade Ivy" kit measures 21 cm in length, and the "Ultra-Long-Range Sniper Electromagnetic Projectile Cannon" mounted on its back is an impressive 32 cm long, with highly detailed mechanical sculpting that is incredibly cool. The cockpit features an opening mechanism and includes internal seating details, allowing it to accommodate various separately sold "Governor" figures. The six insect legs feature multi-axis articulation, while the large thrusters have a locking mechanism to maintain their stowed position. Both the massive cannon barrel and the bases of the plasma cannons on either side of the head are equipped with articulated joints, allowing for adjustment of firing angles.
All parts connect using the characteristic hexagonal holes and shafts of HEXA GEAR. The kit also includes multiple 3-5mm adapter parts for the leg mid-sections, allowing for customization with separately sold HEXA GEAR products and various other model kit series from Kotobukiya!
