From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, the 1/144 scale Gunpla『HG (High Grade)』series, which boasts the most diverse range of mobile suits, following the Phantom Gundam, today announced the latest product from the manga "Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam GHOST", the "Ghost Gundam", scheduled for release in October 2023.
The XM-XX Ghost Gundam is a mobile suit heavily damaged after the Phantom Gundam intercepted a nuclear missile, then modified using spare parts from the Crossbone Gundam X-0, X-1, and X-2. Its entire body armor is coated with a silver rare metal plating, providing functions such as anti-beam and anti-physical projectile reactive armor. This also makes the armor lighter and improves cooling efficiency. A row of forced cooling barrels has been added to its backpack, extending the activation time of the "Phantom Light" and enhancing the cruising performance of its "Mirage Bird" flight mode. At maximum output, it can fire irregularly trajectory beam cannons from its auxiliary thrusters and heat vents all over its body, attacking its surroundings, but this also places a severe load on the mobile suit.
The "HG 1/144 Ghost Gundam" is a modification of the Phantom Gundam kit, featuring excellent part separation, color molding, and flexible articulation. It utilizes some new parts to recreate the distinct limb designs, the forced cooling barrels on the backpack, and the rifles on both sides of the waist. The entire mobile suit's striking silver exterior armor parts are reproduced with a gorgeous matte-plated silver finish.
Through interchangeable parts, the head can recreate states such as "damaged mono-eye" and "forced cooling mode". The entire mobile suit can also transform into its "Mirage Bird" form, and numerous clear effect parts are used to depict the "Phantom Light" erupting from various points.
Its main armament is the Multi-Purpose Attack Weapon "Kujaku", which combines the functions of the Muramasa Blaster and the Peacock Smasher. It can recreate both sword and crossbow forms, and effect parts are used to depict the jagged beam on the sword. The rifles on both sides of the waist can also recreate both their stored state and their firing state when held by both hands.
