Japan's SQUARE ENIX recently officially announced its new affordable pre-painted figure series "FORM-ISM". The first products will be "2B (YoRHa No.2 Type B)" and "2B (YoRHa No.2 Type B) Goggles OFF Ver." from the popular action game NieR:Automata, scheduled for release in February 2024.
The "FORM-ISM" series is a new line of PVC pre-painted figures focused on accessible pricing. Compared to typical 1/8 or 1/7 scale character figures that often exceed 10,000 Japanese Yen, "FORM-ISM" figures are priced at approximately 4,500 JPY + tax, and feature an easy-to-collect size of about 18 cm, along with a certain standard of sculpting and paint application. Similar to products from other manufacturers like POP UP PARADE, TENITOL, KDcolleLIGHT, and ConoFig, SQUARE ENIX aims to capture the low-price market segment with its own popular IP characters.
"FORM-ISM 2B (YoRHa No.2 Type B)" is simultaneously released in two versions: with goggles and without goggles, both at the same accessible price of 4,500 JPY + tax. The overall sculpt depicts her holding the Virtuous Contract, striking a dynamic pose as if leaping, landing on one foot. Her pure white short hair uses translucent parts to convey a light, airy feel. Details such as the mole at the corner of her mouth, the cutouts on her chest and back, and the patterns on her black attire are faithfully reproduced. The two versions showcase different dynamic poses with their left and right angles.
Furthermore, FORM-ISM products for NieR:Automata's other two protagonists, 9S and A2, are also currently under development, with more product information expected to be revealed at a later date.
