BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan has announced today the latest product from the 'MG (Master Grade)' Gunpla series, which features the latest technology, complete part separation, and high posability. The "Gundam F90 Mission Pack J-Type & Q-Type," from "Mobile Suit Gundam F90," is scheduled for release in November 2023.
The F90-01 Gundam F90 is a new mobile suit developed in U.C. 0111 as part of S.N.R.I.'s "FORMULA Project," which aimed to miniaturize mobile suits. Its most significant feature is the Mission Pack expansion system, with numerous hard points located throughout the body for quick equipment changes to suit mission requirements. The project currently includes at least 26 types of Mission Packs (A-Z), and even models without detailed prior settings have been redesigned by Master Kunio Okawara and released as MG kits through the "F90 A to Z PROJECT." This release features the heavy armament "J-Type (JACKET)" and the enhanced mobility "Q-Type (QUICK)" packs.
The "MG 1/100 Gundam F90 Mission Pack J-Type & Q-Type" can be equipped onto the separately sold MG 1/100 Gundam F90 main unit. The J-Type Mission Pack boasts a silhouette reminiscent of the "Full Armor Gundam" from the One Year War, utilizing new parts to recreate its navy blue armor covering the entire body, a twin beam rifle, and a back-mounted beam cannon. Two beam sabers can be stored within the left arm shield, and the back beam cannon features a simple rotating mechanism to reproduce its stowed and deployed states.
Meanwhile, the pristine white Q-Type Mission Pack recreates its various additional armor and thruster units with black and white molded colors. The wing thrusters mounted on the back are set as two units on each side by default, but multiple kits can be used to connect an unlimited number of thrusters. Both Mission Packs come with water-slide decals featuring abundant body markings, which will further enhance the level of detail on the mobile suit!
