TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., which releases the "S.H.MonsterArts" series combining exquisite monster sculpting with excellent articulation technology, today announced the latest product from the newest Godzilla series film, "Godzilla Minus One": the "Godzilla (2023)", scheduled for November 2023 release.

"Godzilla Minus One" is the 30th film in Japan's Toho "Godzilla" series, commemorating its 70th anniversary. Directed and written by Takashi Yamazaki, who previously helmed the "ALWAYS Sanchome" series and "STAND BY ME Doraemon," the film is set in post-WWII Japan, the origin point of the first Godzilla. Japan, having lost countless people and infrastructure due to the war, finds itself in a predicament where it must start from zero. The sudden landing of the giant monster "Godzilla" further pushes the nation into its most desperate state ever. How will people face the predicament of going from zero to minus one?

The "S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (2023)" features renowned monster sculptor Yuji Sakai for its prototype creation and coloring. Based on the 3D model used in the film, it is sculpted into a posable figure approximately 16 cm tall, faithfully reproducing its robust physique reminiscent of the Heisei series Godzilla, its rough skin like deep-sea coral reefs, and its sharp, massive coral-like dorsal fins. The overall articulation inherits the characteristics of previous products, with multiple flexible movable joints in the lower jaw, neck, torso, limbs, and tail. This time, for the first time in the series, an independent articulation mechanism for each toe has been introduced to recreate scenes of its colossal feet devastating the land in the film!
