Bandai Candy, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its popular action candy toy series "Shodo," the evolved "Shodo XX," featuring the "Kamen Rider No. 2+1 & Shin Cyclone Set" from the movie "Shin Kamen Rider"! The suggested retail price is 5,940 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in December 2023.
The 50th anniversary Kamen Rider commemorative work, "Shin Kamen Rider," directed by Hideaki Anno, is a reinterpretation of the original 1971 "Kamen Rider" and the fourth film in the "Shin Japan Heroes Universe" series. Featuring talented young actors Sosuke Ikematsu as the new generation Takeshi Hongo and Tasuku Emoto as Hayato Ichimonji, the film blends nostalgic elements with a modern style, allowing audiences to once again experience Kamen Rider No. 1 and No. 2 teaming up to fight the evil organization "Shocker."
The "Shodo XX Kamen Rider No. 2+1 & Shin Cyclone Set" faithfully recreates Hayato, who, after surviving the decisive battle with "Kamen Rider No. 0," resolves to become a "true Kamen Rider." He wears the helmet and red scarf entrusted to him by Hongo before his death. This set features entirely new sculpting, and all interchangeable hand parts are new gestures, thoroughly reproducing the in-show appearance. The main body is based on a slightly taller Kamen Rider No. 2 body, with added side lines, and the colors of the gloves and boots have been changed to match No. 2+1.
The dedicated motorcycle "Cyclone" has also been redesigned as the "Shin Cyclone," which appears in the final stage!! Due to numerous design differences from the original Cyclone, it is also an entirely new sculpt. Its overall proportions are the same as Kamen Rider No. 2, allowing for riding poses to recreate scenes from the show and enjoy the scenario of steadfastly fighting as "Kamen Rider No. 2+1"!
