Following the previous reveal of the colored prototype, Japanese toy company Kotobukiya has finally officially announced its latest product from "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time": the "Rei Ayanami ~affectionate gaze~" 1/6 scale PVC pre-painted complete figure! The suggested retail price is 19,500 JPY, with an estimated release in January 2024.
The "Rei Ayanami ~affectionate gaze~" 1/6 scale PVC pre-painted complete figure stands approximately 22 cm tall, recreating Rei Ayanami's long-haired appearance as first seen in "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time." Sculpted by Kotobukiya's renowned sculptor, Hajime Shirahige, the captivating hair, reaching down to her hips, is intricately sculpted. The translucent hair tips feature a gradient paint application, giving even her thick long hair an airy, light feel. Her slightly open, downcast eyes and gentle, subtle smile radiate a rare maternal glow. The particularly finely sculpted three-dimensional eyelashes allow for subtle changes in expression to be appreciated from different angles.
The intricately painted EVA plugsuit envelops her slender body, revealing the lines of her legs; in her hands, she gently cradles a handmade doll modeled after Tsubame, and her pose, delicately seated on a stone, is utterly charming! The fabric texture on the stone is also meticulously recreated.
