Released by Japanese model manufacturer FUJIMI, the popular Godzilla assembly model 『CHIBIMARU Godzilla』 series, which combines chibi proportions with the cool styling of the original design, recently announced the latest product after a five-year hiatus, "Godzilla (2003)", scheduled for release in October 2023.
The Godzilla (2003) featured this time appeared in the film 《Godzilla X Mothra X Mechagodzilla: Tokyo SOS》. Continuing the story from the previous work 《Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla》, Godzilla, after a fierce battle with Mechagodzilla, returned to the Pacific to recuperate, and a year later, attracted by Kiryu (Type-3 Mechagodzilla) built using the bones of the original Godzilla, landed in Japan once more, seemingly still unwilling to give up reclaiming the remains of its kin, engaging in a final decisive battle in Tokyo with Mothra and Kiryu.
The "CHIBIMARU Godzilla (2003)" is produced using two molded plastic colors and stickers, and stands approximately 10 cm tall upon completion, featuring adorable chibi proportions while faithfully recreating its fierce, crocodile-like head sculpt, massive sharp dorsal fins, and the scar on its chest left by a direct hit from the Absolute Zero Cannon. Its lower jaw, neck, limbs, and tail all feature articulated joints, allowing it to recreate battle poses with the included heat ray effect parts.
