Japan's SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd. today announced that the latest product from their 1/6 scale action figure 'PLAY ARTS改' series, "Tidus" from "FINAL FANTASY X", is slated for release in April 2024.
The protagonist of "FINAL FANTASY X", Tidus, is a 17-year-old boy from the dream world of Zanarkand. This famous Blitzball star arrived on Besaid Island in the world of Spira after encountering the calamity of "Sin". His personality, which compelled him to save others regardless of rules, caught the attention of the summoner girl Yuna, who was his age. He later became her guardian and embarked on a journey to defeat "Sin" with her. During their journey, the two gradually grew close and developed feelings for each other, creating a poignant love story that included a beautiful, heartwarming kiss in the Macalania Spring and tearful farewells of life and death.
The "PLAY ARTS改 Tidus" is crafted with a fully articulated specification, standing approximately 27 cm tall. It faithfully recreates the character's appearance and costume designed by Tetsuya Nomura, detailing his characteristic golden short hair, full-body musculature, unique right arm armor, and other intricate features. The rich colors and patterns across his body are brought to life through meticulous paintwork. For accessories, in addition to two interchangeable facial expressions and five interchangeable hand parts, it also includes his signature weapon "Brotherhood" and a "Blitzball", both made from clear material. This allows for recreating scenes such as sword combat and kicking the Blitzball.
