WETA MASTERS COLLECTION Series "SALVATION AT MOUNT DOOM" Diorama: The Most Reliable Great Eagle Divine Rescue!

WETA Workshop, the world-renowned special effects company for film and television, has announced the latest addition to its "MASTERS COLLECTION" product line, a diorama from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King titled "SALVATION AT MOUNT DOOM"! Pre-orders are currently counting down on the official WETA website, with an estimated shipping date in Q2 2024.

After countless deadly perils since leaving the Shire, Frodo and his most loyal companion Sam finally reached Mount Doom in Mordor to destroy the One Ring. Sauron fell, the lands of Mordor began to collapse, and humanity was on the verge of an unprecedented victory. However, the two Hobbit heroes, having completed their arduous mission, could go no further, as the scorching lava gradually approached. Just as they succumbed to unconsciousness, Gandalf and Gwaihir (Lord of the Eagles) arrived to rescue them, becoming the saviors of the saviors of Middle-earth.

This 101 cm tall statue perfectly recreates the tear-jerking scene from the film. The colossal Gwaihir is poised to snatch the Hobbits and fly them away, with an astonishing wingspan of 119 cm. The rich texture of its feathers, the sharpness of its beak, and the keenness of its talons are all wonderfully sculpted. The surrounding rocks further enhance the realistic sense of Gwaihir's descent. The dynamic flow of Gandalf's white robes on the Great Eagle's back, as well as Frodo and Sam's tattered clothes and utterly exhausted state, are meticulously rendered. Furthermore, the exquisite paintwork combined with a lighting function conveys the visual effect of intense heat and flowing lava. This is truly an epic masterpiece.
