The renowned Hong Kong toy brand ACTION TOYS's "ES Alloy Series" is set to release the protagonist robot "Tetsujin 28" from the classic robot anime 《Tetsujin 28: Messenger of the Sun》 in the second quarter of 2024! The suggested retail price is 720 HKD.
The late manga artist Mitsuteru Yokoyama launched the classic robot work 《Tetsujin 28》 in 1956, where Tetsujin's design was more rounded. In 1980, Tokyo Movie in Japan released an adaptation, 《Tetsujin 28: Messenger of the Sun》（太陽の使者 鉄人28号）, which modified Tetsujin's design and colors, making it appear more slender, streamlined, and cool. Taiwan's TTV also broadcasted it in 1987 under the name 《Iron Superman》, becoming a shared memory for many born in the 1970s.
This ES Alloy Tetsujin 28: Messenger of the Sun from ACTION TOYS maintains the series' consistent style, featuring a large-head, SD (Super Deformed) proportion. Standing approximately 15 cm tall, while its design is cute, the articulation is not overlooked, allowing for dynamic poses such as the flying kick seen in the original work. The eyes can light up. Additionally, it comes with a lower body part that can display its internal structure, and the upper body can also reveal its internal mechanisms. It also includes parts for the pilot Shotaro Kaneda, his dedicated hovercraft, and a maintenance robot, as well as interchangeable hand parts. The pointed top of its head is detachable.
