Following Shingen and Kenshin, the highly popular original plastic model kit series 'Frame Arms' from Japan's Kotobukiya company has recently announced the third original mecha designed by Kunio Okawara, 'Jubei', scheduled for release in December 2023.
The original mecha 'Jubei' being released this time is a Frame Arms unit designed by mechanical designer Kunio Okawara, based on the famous Edo period Japanese samurai Yagyu Mitsuyoshi (Yagyu Jubei). It features silver and black armor that incorporates strong elements of Japanese samurai armor, with a katana as its primary weapon. In accordance with his one-eyed legend, the left eye camera is designed with a damaged and repaired appearance. The unique head design is inspired by a ronin's straw hat, which, when removed, reveals internal parts resembling a samurai's topknot.
Compared to the previous two installments, 'Frame Arms Jubei' is made with entirely new parts. It is a fully articulated model, approximately 16 cm tall, constructed from multi-colored parts (black, white, etc.) and includes decals for body markings. The entire model features flexible articulation, with new movable axes added to the inner upper arms for easier two-handed sword-wielding poses. Combined with various interchangeable hand parts and its main weapon, the 'katana', you can recreate dynamic battle scenes. Additionally, the accessories include four different interchangeable face parts, and the ronin's straw hat on the head can be removed and replaced with a samurai topknot-style part.
