BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division has announced the latest product from its classic die-cast toy series, 'Chogokin,' featuring the 'Daisy Ogre' from the anime 'SYNDUALITY Noir,' slated for release in January 2024.
'SYNDUALITY' is a brand-new sci-fi IP launched by Bandai Namco Entertainment of Japan. The story, themed around the 'intertwining' of humans and AI, is set in a world where deadly poisonous rain falls. This lethal poison once caused a catastrophic disaster known as the 'Tears of the New Moon,' resulting in the loss of 92% of the world's population. The remaining humans established city-states underground. Over a century later, humanity finally acquired the technology to overcome this rain, giving rise to a profession called 'Drifters.' These Drifters, accompanied by 'Magus' — humanoid AI equipped with human-like dual-thought AI — pilot bipedal walking robots called 'Coffins' to combat the human threat, 'Enders,' and venture to the surface to search for precious resources such as 'AO Crystals.'
The robots appearing in the series are bipedal walking robots known as 'Coffins,' also referred to as 'All-Weather Cruising Bipeds.' To cope with the inevitable battles and harsh environments encountered during AO Crystal retrieval, they are equipped with various armaments. In addition to the pilot, the machine's back features a coffin-like space to house the pilot's partner, the 'Magus,' leveraging the AI's computational power to provide excellent support for exploration and combat. This particular Daisy Ogre version is the unit piloted by the Drifter protagonist Kanata and his Magus Noir from the anime 'SYNDUALITY Noir.'
The 'Chogokin Daisy Ogre' is a 15 cm tall finished product that meticulously reproduces the design by Ippei Gyobu. Its main frame is constructed from die-cast parts, offering both a flexible range of articulation, joint stability, and a satisfying heft when handled. The exterior features intricate and rich color applications and printing to faithfully recreate the complex patterns on various parts of the machine. Furthermore, LED light-up functions are incorporated into the eye sensors and the cockpit interior, significantly enhancing its in-show appearance.
The accessories not only include multiple interchangeable hand parts, an assault rifle, and two types of cutting chains (one fixed, one metal chain) to recreate combat poses, but also seven different eye sensor parts and mini figures of the two protagonists, Kanata and Noir. The front cockpit and rear coffin can be opened separately to insert the figures, allowing for detailed scene recreation!
