American collectible brand Numskull Designs' "TUBBZ" toy series, which transforms characters from major films, anime, manga, and video games into rubber ducks, has announced its latest product from the American thriller film The Silence of the Lambs: "Hannibal Lecter"! It is scheduled for release in October 2023.
The Silence of the Lambs is regarded as a masterpiece by the late Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme. The plot follows FBI trainee Clarice Starling as she negotiates with "Hannibal the Cannibal" Lecter to gain clues to track down the notorious serial killer Buffalo Bill. Hannibal's extraordinary intellect, bloodthirsty cruelty, and yet refined demeanor create a highly successful and conflicting character.
This TUBBZ series three-dimensional rendition of "Hannibal Lecter" stands approximately 9 cm tall. It perfectly combines the rubber duck concept with elements from Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of Hannibal, including the mask designed to prevent him from eating people and his straitjacket. The iconic bound hands from the film are also faithfully recreated here. While the overall lines are rounded, it certainly wouldn't be described as cute; it truly captures Anthony Hopkins' unsettling image from the time, exuding a disturbing aura.
