TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., recently unveiled the prototype for the latest addition to its robot-themed action figure series, "ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.", featuring the "Dilanza (Guel's Custom)" from "Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury". The release date is yet to be determined.
The MD-0031 Dilanza is a general-purpose mass-produced mobile suit developed by Jeturk Heavy Machinery. It was designed with powerful engine output and robust heavy armor as its foundation, integrating various elements. To compensate for its inherent lack of mobility, it features large-capacity thrusters and leg-mounted hover units for high-speed ground gliding. This unit, serving as the company's flagship, was also customized by the eldest son, Guel Jeturk, as a dueling machine. In addition to adjustments and performance enhancements tailored to Guel's close-quarters combat style, the entire unit is painted in eye-catching magenta, and a flamboyant feather ornament has been added to its head antenna.
Currently, only partial content of the "ROBOT SPIRITS Dilanza (Guel's Custom) ver. A.N.I.M.E." has been exhibited. It faithfully reproduces the magenta-painted heavy armor and distinctive wing-shaped stabilizers on the back, based on the anime's design. Partial articulation can be seen in the arm joints and shoulder shields. However, the only weapon currently shown is the beam rifle; the primary beam broadsword is not included, and the distinctive feather ornament on the head has also not yet been revealed. The overall color scheme is more faithful to the original design than the HG model kit version, and we eagerly anticipate how the somewhat awkward hip joints and front skirt articulation from the HG model kit version will be improved.
