BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, which issues the highly popular character plastic model kit series "Figure-rise Standard," today officially announced the latest product from "Ultraman Blazar," "Ultraman Blazar," scheduled for release in December 2023.
The setting of "Ultraman Blazar" is an Earth frequently plagued by kaiju disasters. To defend against internal and external threats, humanity established the Global Free-for-all Force (GFF) in 1966. Returning to the modern era where nature is rapidly being destroyed, the protagonist Gento Hiruma, leader of a special unit, merges with the giant of light "Ultraman Blazar" from celestial body M421 during a crisis. After this event, Gento is appointed captain of the secret special unit "SKaRD," responsible for using new weaponry to resolve kaiju disasters. The cinematography, reminiscent of Heisei-era kaiju films like "Godzilla" and "Gamera," has received considerable praise.
The "Figure-rise Standard Ultraman Blazar" not only faithfully recreates Blazar's cool muscular lines across his entire body through precise sculpting, but the intricate red and blue lines on his left half, resembling human blood vessels, are also progressively reproduced using a triple molding technique to achieve three layers of silver, blue, and red colors. This minimizes the use of stickers, allowing for the assembly of the in-show appearance without additional painting. Furthermore, the chest color timer can be reproduced in both blue and red light states by swapping parts.
In addition to its impressive exterior design, the interior also features flexible articulation. Beyond basic limb articulation, the torso incorporates a two-stage ball joint with a front-and-back sliding mechanism, allowing for flexible forward bending, backward arching, and waist twisting poses. The fin part between the head and back is independently articulated, expanding the range of head backward tilt. The shoulders adopt a pull-out joint structure, enabling more natural poses where the left hand touches the right hand, recreating special move stances. An unrevealed weapon will also be included as an accessory.
