Today, the popular action figure series 'S.H.Figuarts', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, announced detailed information for its latest product from 'Kamen Rider BLACK SUN', the "Kamen Rider BLACK SUN (First Transformation Ver.)". This item will be released as a commemorative product for the opening of the annual Tamashii Nations event, 'TAMASHII NATION 2023'.
In the series 'Kamen Rider BLACK SUN', the protagonist Kotaro Minami was implanted with the King Stone by his father at the age of 11, becoming a Kaijin and a candidate for the "Creation King". In 1970s Japan, a period of intense conflict between humans and Kaijin, Kotaro Minami, Nobuhiko Akizuki, and a group of Kaijin comrades formed the anti-discrimination group "Gorgom" to advocate for Kaijin rights, but it disintegrated due to intervention from the Japanese government. Fifty years later, Kotaro lives a life of detachment, earning dirty money. It wasn't until he met Aoi Izumi, a human girl who helps Kaijin speak out, that Kotaro awakened from being a Kaijin to become Kamen Rider BLACK SUN, determined to end the series of tragedies brought about by the "Creation King".
This product is a modification of the standard version released in 2022. It uses black parts to recreate the highly detailed, organic design seen in the show, with clear parts for the sharp and cool compound eyes, and intricate detailing on the belt. What's different is that this First Transformation version features repainted glowing areas on the head and limbs, using an orange-red color to depict lines emitting a fiery red glow, recreating the scene in Episode 5 where Kotaro Minami, fueled by rage, first transforms into Kamen Rider BLACK SUN!
The rest of the figure is identical to the standard version. The entire body utilizes the articulation technology cultivated over many years in the S.H.Figuarts series, with new joint parts added to allow for more realistic twisting waist movements. Its flexible articulation, combined with various interchangeable hand parts, allows for recreating poses from the show. Furthermore, by swapping parts, it can recreate the state where the insect legs on both sides of the chest are removed and used as the handheld weapon "Century King Black Sword"!
