BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has today unveiled detailed information for the latest product from their transforming alloy toy series "DX Chogokin," based on the theatrical anime "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?" This new item, the "VF-1S Strike Valkyrie (Hikaru Ichijyo Custom) Mechanic Edition," will be released as a commemorative item for the opening of the annual TAMASHII NATION 2023 event.
Appearing in the original 1982 "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross," the variable fighter VF-1 Valkyrie is one of the most iconic machines in the series, playing an active role in the "First Space War" between Earthlings and Zentradi. This aircraft was developed by the Earth Unified Forces using advanced alien technology acquired from an alien battleship, equipped with a nuclear fusion turbofan engine capable of continuous flight for 700 hours within an atmosphere. To combat the Zentradi, who are much larger than humans, it also features a three-stage transformation mechanism from fighter to robot. Its extreme versatility has led to the development of various specifications. This product features the VF-1S Strike Valkyrie, equipped with the Strike Pack enhancement parts from the movie.
The "VF-1S Strike Valkyrie (Hikaru Ichijyo Custom) Mechanic Edition" is a modified version based on previously released theatrical Valkyrie and Strike Pack enhancement parts. Its main highlight is the precisely sculpted internal mechanical structures in the leg boosters and backpack boosters, which are painted with various metallic colors to represent the differences in parts and materials. The detachable outer armor offers two options: transparent molded color or anime-accurate coloring, allowing for both transparent display and play with the in-show appearance!
Other specifications remain the same as the regular version. The entire model is produced at approximately 1/48 scale, boasting a length of about 30 cm in FIGHTER mode. The deployable cockpit can accommodate a Hikaru Ichijyo minifigure. The series' signature three-stage transformation is, of course, included, allowing for the reproduction of FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID modes through its precise transformation mechanism. It also comes with abdominal detail enhancement parts and the main weapon, the GUNPOD.
