The Hong Kong toy brand threezero, in collaboration with renowned sculptors, recently announced the latest product in its "threezeroX" series of articulated figures, which reinterprets characters with a strong personal style: the "Ultraman Zero Strong-Corona Type," slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2023.
In the movie "Ultraman Saga," Ultraman Zero once fused with Ultraman Dyna and Ultraman Cosmos to become Ultraman Saga. The powers of Dyna and Cosmos remained within Zero, allowing him to transform into two enhanced forms: "Strong-Corona Type" and "Luna-Miracle Type." Inheriting the Strong Type of Dyna and the Corona Type of Cosmos, the Strong-Corona Type possesses incredibly powerful combat skills and superhuman strength, as well as high-temperature energy beam techniques.
Similar to the two previously released versions, the "threezeroX Ultraman Zero Strong-Corona Type" is sculpted by Japanese sculptor Akinori Takaki. Standing approximately 34.6cm tall, the figure features over 52 points of articulation, with some parts made of die-cast metal, providing a substantial feel when handled. The upper body is sculpted with more organic, biological muscle lines, while the face shape is more elongated and sharp. Built-in light-up features are included in the forehead, eyes, and chest color timer, which can switch between blue and red lights.
The overall color scheme has been updated to the characteristic red, silver, and gold of the Strong-Corona Type, utilizing pearl and metallic paints to achieve a luxurious metallic sheen. Accessories include five pairs of interchangeable hands and the weapon "Zero Lance." The pair of "Zero Sluggers" on the head are magnetically attached and can be removed and directly affixed to either side of the chest color timer, recreating the pose for unleashing the powerful beam technique "Zero Twin Shoot."
