The Black Gate is Sauron's main entrance and exit located in the northwest of his stronghold, Mordor. It holds strategic significance by connecting the Ephel Dúath (Mountains of Shadow) and Ered Lithui (Ash Mountains), defending against attacks from multiple directions. It is heavily guarded, and its massive doors are so heavy that they require the strength of trolls to open. In Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" film trilogy, the vast armies assembling and departing from the Black Gate conveyed an extremely powerful sense of oppression! Furthermore, because the Black Gate was originally constructed by Sauron with the power of the One Ring, it collapsed and ceased to exist once the Ring was destroyed.
This Black Gate environment created by WETA stands approximately 15 cm tall and spans 37.8 cm wide. Crafted from high-quality polystone, it faithfully recreates the imposing dark walls and the large watchtowers situated on the mountain slopes on either side. The sharp, spiky design, the incredibly heavy texture, and the realistic rust detailing are all exquisitely rendered. What's even more impressive is that the interior of the gate is also extended, and the surrounding environment is depicted, giving this scene a wealth of intricate details despite its compact size. It makes one eager to populate it with miniature figures to stage a siege battle!
