Japanese model maker Megahouse's "Gundam Guys Generation (GGG)" series, which sculpts male characters from "Mobile Suit Gundam" in high quality, today unveiled the prototype for its latest work from "Mobile Suit Gundam," "GGG-DX Char Aznable (tentative name)," with an expected release within 2024.
This GGG series entry sculpts the "Red Comet" Char Aznable in a horseback riding pose with luxurious specifications. In the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, Char made a memorable appearance riding a white horse when he arrived at the "Texas Colony," which had a Western frontier style. Later, animation director Yoshikazu Yasuhiko complemented this history with his newly drawn spin-off work, "Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN." The Texas Colony was once the residence of Casval and Artesia when they were adopted. The Aznable couple who adopted them had a son named Char, who was similar to Casval in both age and appearance. Before Casval stole his identity, the two were close friends like brothers and also taught the siblings excellent horseback riding skills.
From the unpainted prototype currently revealed, it can be seen that this horseback riding Char is sculpted based on Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's style, delicately capturing Char's characteristic helmet, the subtle wrinkle variations of his full military uniform, and intricate details. The horse's sculpt is also highly realistic, depicting its robust muscle lines, visible veins on the skin surface, and dynamic mane flowing in the wind, all in a rearing stance with raised front legs, conveying Char's heroic and majestic presence.
