Chinese toy brand CCSTOYS today officially announced the long-awaited latest product in its die-cast action figure "MORTAL MIND" series from "Super Robot Wars OG": "Cybaster (Spirit Possessed Ver.)", scheduled for release in November 2023.
In the "Super Robot Wars" series, the highly popular original unit Cybaster, piloted by Masaki Andoh (CV: Hikaru Midorikawa), is a Wind Elemental Lord developed by the Holy Langran Kingdom of the underground world, which has formed a contract with the Wind Spirit Zephyr. Powered by an alchemical perpetual motion engine and propelled by an aether medium, this unit possesses extremely high performance and versatility. The pilot's aura, magic, and other aptitudes can significantly influence the unit's abilities. Cybaster's main weapon is the physical sword "Discutter", capable of unleashing powerful techniques such as Spirit Flash, Prana Storm, and Rampage Slash. It also possesses the ability to transform into its flight cruising form "Cybard" and "Spirit Possession", where it becomes one with the Wind Spirit.
The "CCSTOYS Cybaster (Spirit Possessed Ver.)" is crafted at an impressive height of approximately 33.5 cm, depicting Cybaster in its Spirit Possessed state. The entire figure is constructed from a composite of materials including PVC, ABS, POM, and die-cast parts, and features a heavy-duty color scheme with matte silver armor and gunmetal gray frame. The overall design reinterprets the original settings, enlarging the proportions of the skirt armor and limb armor, and adding richer details such as the rear thruster structures, showcasing a truly powerful physique.
The overall articulation appears to be highly flexible. The "Cosmo Nova Reactor" embedded in the wrists can deploy its armor, while the "Astral Synchronizer" on the legs and shoulders features a linked transformation mechanism and activation effects. It also boasts a transformation mechanism that allows it to convert into its flight cruising form "Cybard" without needing to swap parts. Furthermore, the base and multiple green gem sections on the main body incorporate LED lighting mechanisms, activated by touch switches. When all lights are illuminated, it perfectly recreates the pose for its strongest special move, "Akashic Nova"!
The weapon accessories include two "High Familiars" (Kuro and Shiro), a magic circle, firing effects, a display stand, as well as an enhanced Discutter and its dedicated effect parts. Furthermore, the impressive new ability "Laplace Demon Mode" from "Masou Kishin F" can also be recreated with expanding blue light effects using the shoulder and leg effect parts!
